JSSATE-STEP (a registered Society) has grown within
the campus of JSS Academy of Technical Education, which is a part of the JSS
Mahavidyapeetha group of Educational Institutions and is located in Noida,
which is in the National Capital Territory (NCT). Noida,
is highly industrialized with many industrial areas and estates
catering to the development of industrial units in virtually every industry
sector. It is situated close to Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad etc.The thrust
areas in JSS-STEP have been ICT, Manufacturing technologies and Construction
Technologies. Among the Facilities available are 1. Information
Technology Business Incubator (ITBI) – established with support
from the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, to nurture
IT Based start up companies. 2.Product Lifecycle Management Competency
Centre (PLMCC) – established with in collaboration with the
Ministry for Youth, Research and Education, Govt. of France and Dassault
Systems, France with an objective of providing education, training and research
in the area of PLM
OTHER ACTIVITIES & SERVICES:
Entrepreneurship Development:To motivate young and bright
students to take up the challenge of establishing their own Ventures.
Designing, developing and implementing need based Entrepreneurship
Development Programmes Concentration on specific sectors such as Information
Technology, Electronics, Engineering and Design and other areas that
offer viable business propositions.Target Groups – Science and Technology
Graduates, Women, Ex – Servicemen and Physically Handicapped.
Human Resource Development:Skill Development
training for enhancing employment potential and updating existing potential
of – service personnel.Organizing Conferences / Seminars / Workshops for
promoting awareness and exposure in current technology and
management practices. The
broad area of ICT, proposed for JSSATE-STEP in this Project is based on the
typical requirement of this highly Industrialized area with several
ICT based Companies in the vicinity.
